Shvonne... I think I mentioned the wrong book in my email... I threw this suggested outline on here without looking at the one you mentioned... I like the idea but I am not sure you could get through that entire book in a six hour course. What I listed above is basically how I approached our Digital Academy Moodle although I had the luxury of spreading it out over several weeks and I didn't get to all of the activities and resources that are possible. I think as teachers you need to choose what will be the best as the starting point and then continue in the Moodle 102 course. I would hold off on Multimedia and some of the trickier stuff until later... Just my thoughts of course! :) Let me know what you think.... see you in class tomorrow!

I would break down the Moodle 101 class into sections as follows:
->What is Moodle / Why would you use it
-Show video clip of what it is (the lego one seems useful)
-Talk about Web 2.0 and teaching children to be 21st Century learners (lifelong)
->How to's
-Log On
-Navigate (possibly using a preset up Greenbook Moodle Course)
-Try out a couple items
-Begin set up of their own course
-Go through the different formats for Social/Topic/Weekly
->Uses
-Calendar
-Forums
-Vote
-Assignments
-Glossary
-etc.

***Remember as far as Technology Greenbooks, what you think takes 5 minutes often can take 15 with a large diverse group

We can also show them how to vote, play games, etc...

9:00-10:00 Implementing moodle in the classroom. We can guide teachers into helping them set up moodle for their classes.
I like the idea of going thru the next couple of chapters. If we walk them through it we can use the rest of the time allowing them to set up classes. Perhaps from 11:00-11:30 we can show the teachers how to set up a quiz, using moodle for assignments, etc? What do you think?

I highly recommend we all try to get through the Course Conversion Moodle book that we got in Digital Academy as a guide for the Moodle 101 Greenbook. It might be nice to break down the Greenbook by chapters? I'd be more than willing to work on the first couple of chapters. This might be a nice way for the MS and HS courses to stay consistent
