Description:

Have you seen the new Microsoft Office 2007? Is it stressing you out? If so, then this is the course for you. Where's my file menu? How do I print? Why is it so different? These questions and more will be answered as you learn how and why Microsoft has made these big changes. You will learn tips and tricks to make this new environment friendlier and explore the cool new features. New features in Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be covered. Open Labs 101 for Middle School

Description:

The course will be an overview on how to manage the computer and mobile labs.  Topics to be covered include new procedures and basics of SMARTBoard, SMART Notebook, SMART Sync software and student and teacher file management.  This course is a must for anyone interested in integrating technology within your instruction.

High School Moodle 101

 

Description

In this course you will learn about and create a learning environment using Moodle, an online course management system. Within Moodle your classroom can be extended online as well as broadening your students’ learning experiences outside of the normal brick-and-mortar. The three main areas to be covered are the what and why, the how-to (building upon the basic modules), and the benefits for you and students. Features include online discussions, surveys, assignments, quizzes, classroom calendar, etc.

Description

In this course you will learn about and create a learning environment using Moodle, an online course management system. Within Moodle your classroom can be extended online as well as broadening your students’ learning experiences outside of the normal brick-and-mortar. The three main areas to be covered are the what and why, the how-to (building your basic Moodle course), and the benefits for your students and you.  Features include online discussions, surveys, assignments, quizzes, classroom calendar, etc.  At the conclusion of this three hour sesssion, your first Moodle course will be created for the upcoming school year.

Open Lab Resources for Middle School Math and Science

Description:

In this greenbook, teachers  will utilize quality interactive math and science websites and SMARTNotebook files suitable for the middle school setting.  Websites such as Learn360.com, geogebra.org,  and math24-7.com, as well science and math gizmos and create-a-graph will be covered.  These resources will be available on the new laptops as well as in all computer and mobile labs.

Introduction to Open Labs Accelerated

 

 

Description

This Greenbook is intended for teachers that have prior experience with computer labs and/or has background knowledge with computers.  The course will be an overview on how to manage the computer lab environment in a school settting.  Topics to be covered include using SMART Sync software (such as student collaboration, broadcasting individual computers, and monitoring student progress) as well as successful tips for lab usage.  An introduction to the mobile labs (laptops) will also be discussed.

This Greenbook will introduce you to the smart board as well as the Notebook 10 software.  You will learn the basic setup and interactive activities to use with students.  For the NEWBIE smart board users.  (It was put in my room, and I don't know what to do with it!)  You will leave this 3 hour greenbook with confidence, tools and motivation to make the smart board an everday necessity in your classroom.

Teachers will learn the basics of operating and instructing in an open lab. Topics will include: basic SmartBoard and SmartNotebook functions; SmartSync operations to observe and control student computer use; operating mobile laptop labs in the regular classroom, and use of z: drive for saving files.
